If you listen to “Pathetique Sonata” and look at his video, sitting along in a field of Sunflowers, by the thousands, and I understand his interpretation of the environment, and Ukraine. Ukraine is a country of a Sunflower flag. It has been attacked by Russia and Russia’s leader called Putin. They have lost thousands and thousands of people. His tanks ran over citizens just driving down their highways. The tanks would cross over the meridian of the highway and crush oncoming cars with citizens in them, and no concern of honouring of that citizen’s life. They killed babies numbered in 28 that were 1 day old. No concern or honour for those children’s lives. It breaks you in two realizing the heart ache Mr. Hauser must feel in his interpretation and his music.
But people sometimes come to our country of Canada with wars like this causing deep depressions, anger, hostility, and hatred sometimes, when you had no part of it. To sit down at a table where these people refuse to welcome you into their home with trust, with love in their hearts, but come here to Canada with such unresolved emotions, it is impossible for me as a Canadian to exist in that environment.
The following is my example;
When I look at a field of sunflowers, they are smiling faces, from early morning dawn, that follow their sustainer across the day, with a smile on their face, and the vibrancy of that field is uplifting in itself. To see a huge moose walk through that field as if he owns it, with a stately look, as if he is a knight, is one of the most delightful sights to me in my homeland of Canada. Or a field of flax that waves slightly like a calm sea when tiny breezes blow on the prairies. These are stately sights to this photographer, pianist, and admirer of great musicians.
Do I have compassion, and empathy for Ukraine? I cannot imagine nor do I ever want to imagine what those wars are doing to people. We have recently been attacked by covid 19, a biological warfare on our bodies, and our children’s bodies, men’s bodies, and I did nothing to deserve that attack. And I said, “You cannot kill our children in schools, or via biological attacks on our biology.” I stand by this. Will I allow you to take away my hope, and that answer is “Absolutely not.”
These people come into our country with all their nastiness, angers, distrust, and expect to drown me in their sorrow, but you can have your interpretation of music, and I can have mine. You can have your interpretation of art, but I have mine. Mine is filled with hope, Love, Joy, Peace, Harmony, Honour of Life. I will not allow you to destroy my hope because of your environment of war.
I love Love! Loving you, Loving me, Loving Us, Loving We the People.
I wrote to Hauser and I understand his interpretation with such compassion in his music and video. And the interpretation of his Secret Garden, (Adagio) where Peace, Harmony and Honouring Life exist. “Vendusen Gardens” is an example. But mine is the “Garden of Peace” in Southern Manitoba, and North Dakota where every plant that is planted, is a plant of the prairies, where waterfalls are made, and the River that is man made runs through it to a Little Church in the Vale. The Chimes ring out for Peace, and the Dove sings its song of Peace. This garden is betwixt the borders of the United States and Canada, and has sayings of many Greats that lived before us. This Garden was a promise to All our people that had Dr. Moore and 52,000 others in 1926, build a place to remind us of Peace, and not coups, but Peace. Not telling people to go home, when I have been here for over 600 years with a family name of Cardinal.
I understand a homo sapiens heart of anguish after war destroys everything people build, but I cannot allow you to bring me down with no hope. Its oxytocin, its serotonin, its glutamate, it’s dopamine, and the biochemicals insist I stay balanced. Oxytocin is a Love molecule that insists on Law of Attraction.
Those who shot our kids in school were wrong, sick people that have mutated because of environment. You cannot have my life. My interpretation must stand of my sunflowers and my Moose and the stately wonder of our world amongst tragedy, but with hope.
Thank you for “Pathetique Sonata, and for the Secret Garden” videos. Please allow me, my interpretation of beauty, wonder, Love, Joy, Harmony, Peace, and honouring Life. Thank you to Hauser, whom I love his music. I love his pathology too. He is so compassionate, so empathetic, so Loving, but I must remain hopeful. My heart to you All.
