This is for anyone gathering…Just be aware  that there is a new variant out driving up infections. A virologist explains what to know about NB 1.8.1.

NB 1.8.1 is a highly transmissible Omicron variant. Omicron was a variant of covid 19. It is dominant in parts of Asia, parts of Australia and has now travelled to the United States. This reminds me of measles again something that was almost eradicated.  Many evade immunity but it does not appear to effect disease severity. There may be some humoral escape but overall appears to be good protection. It is called “NIMBUS”

Just a reminder…covid variants are transmissible and gathering together ….not really a great idea. But you walk in pride and gather if you wish.
