1ST PART OF THE SOMATASENSORY SYSTEMS, THE PROPRIOCEPTION, NOCIRECEPTION, AND PACINIAN CORPUSCLES MAPPING

1ST PART OF THE SOMATASENSORY SYSTEMS, THE PROPRIOCEPTION, NOCIRECEPTION, AND PACINIAN CORPUSCLES MAPPING

First let me say this to you before I get started…The reason we have memory, organize, initiate movement, talk, and create anything in life is because we all have a human brain. It is 3 evolved connected parts of one organ, but is a remarkable electromagneticvibrational organ that exists because we evolved into “us.” You have the ability to be decent, law abiding individuals or create havoc in lives. The human brain is capable of both.

Proprioception from Proprio the Latin word that means self, is sometimes referred to as the sixth sense. It is the sensing system of body movement and posture involving feedback to the brain from the somatasensory system.

It involves structures called “PROPRIOCEPTORS” that are in the muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments that monitor changes in length, in tension, in pressure,  and even in the depth of cells around them, and linked to changes in position. Proprioception sends signals or impulses to the somatasensory system,  and upon processing the information of change, a decision is made to change positions, or to stop moving. The brain sends signals back to muscles based on the input from proprioceptors – completing the feedback cycle.

Biceps through arm elongation and contract. The sensory neurons carry information to the brain int0 the sensory system cortex, to process information from the change in position of the bicep. The “muscle spindle fibre” detects the changes in length of the muscle and compensates balance.

Proprioception is impaired when people are under the influence of alcohol, or certain other drugs. The degree of impairment can be tested by field sobriety tests which have been used by policing. Typical tests would be making someone touch their nose with the index finger, with your eyes closed and stand on one leg for 30 seconds,  or to walk heel to talk in a straight line.

Proprioception pathways or conscious proprioception uses the dorsal column – medial leminiscus pathway which passes through the thalamus and ends in the parietal lobe of the cortex. UNCONSCIOUS proprioception involves spinocerebelullar tracts and ends up in the cerebellum, one of the first evolved parts of the brain area. It is the part of the brain at the back of the brain skull involved with control of movement.

If you lose a limb, phantom limb pain linked to plasticity of the sensory cortex can actually reduce the pain sensation. For instance, if you have an electric prosthetic to replace the limb you lost, the prosthetic moves by the patients muscle signals. The brain scans reveal this was linked to the “reversing” the cortex to it’s original state. The state in which the original limb was operating, then a change with no limb,  and then once the prosthetic was put in place the cortex changed back to it’s original state. 😉

There is a fine balance of proprioception in the muscles, tendons, and skin working together with hair cells in the vestibular, and  semicircular canals of the inner ear to maintain balance. A gymnast works on all aspects of these systems of strength, movement of body, and coordination, to achieve fine tuning balance by the proprioreceptors.

The somatasensory system gives us information not only of the external world, but also of our place in space and about our own body’s. Parallel pathways transmit information from receptors in the skin, the joints, muscles, and other areas as we experience as a sense of proprioception awareness, of where our limbs are, the temperature they are, how they move, projection of where they need go.

The anatomy and function of this system compares to the perception of vision and auditory systems but with a “sixth sense proprioceptors.” NOCIRECEPTORS  in the end of your fingers can tell the difference if you are turning 1,2, or 10 pages of a book. It is a remarkable sensitivity of the brain and it’s systems.

The difference in the visual auditory system vs the somata sensory system is that it is not spontaneously active as vision, or auditory systems are, but its “dependent” on the threshold of stimulation that provides information, to the brain, such as some muscle being damaged. So its not the receptors from the stimulation of free nerve endings like for example, the nerves at the end of fingers. These receptors are called “NOCIRECEPTOR CORPUSCLES.” They are sense transmitters of information and related to find touch like book pages. That is a different type of receptor called Meissner’s corpuscles at the end of our fingers and the soles of our feet and external genitalia.

There are also “PACINIAN CORPUSCLES”  of the skin and they can act as a corpuscle in the skin sending information to the brain and act as a proprioceptor if sending information to the brain about a joint. Pain is carried phylogenetically on old Pathways, but discriminating touch is carried on a phylogenetically new pathway, carrying information via body synapses in a thalamic nuclei called the “VENTRAL POSTERIOR NUCLEI.” It will then project to the primary somata sensory areas, 3,2,1, and the latter areas will project to the higher order sensory like area 4 associated muscle movement. The mapping is called “Somatatopic” when in the somatasensory system. It is called Retinotopic when in the vision system,  and Tonotopic mapping in the auditory mapping.

Pain is an extremely important topic and requires the cortex to be conscious and appreciate the formation of precepts and their mappings. One of the main concerns I have in 2014, to 2026 is people using toxins to interfere in the brain’s construated systems of electromagneticvibrational beings,  that initiate movement from the first thought of the day, either through memory, or through initiating movement of any kind from potentiality to kinetic action. Having toxins like botox enter under the skin into the muscle areas will interfere in these areas discussed, and are  very close to important areas in the frontal temporal areas and that is  very dangerous. The Pacinian corpuscles that communicate with the somatasensory system communicate and monitor the rest of the body as well, controlling basic processes daily, and it initiates many moments such as speeding up or inhibiting energies. Being aware of how your actions and choices effect your brain through drug and alcohol use interfering with brain mechanical operations of the whole system that we count on. Do not enter these products into your system at any level because without signals reaching the brain at all, the “UNCONSCIOUS” actions lead the “unconscious brain” to divert it’s attention to irrelevant matters, and really if proprioceptors are able to reverse itself, do you not think we should be careful with what we allowing to enter the brain.

Later in the week I will write about opioid receptor sensory areas, and the differences for vision, auditory system this will entail projection signals and pathways. This will lead us to know more about the Somatotonic mapping. Pain is different than other systems because it is felt and experienced at the “thalamic area” but the cortex is required  for the precise localization of the area. There are descending pathways in the brain that actually (block or gate) the transmission of pain information in the spinal cord, so information is never sent to the brain, unlike other sense systems. Drugs and alcohol act as inhibitors of information entering the somatosensory system, as it returns data back to the cerebellum when drugs or alcohol are involved.

So Point by point what did we learn today”

The somatotonic mapping, and the somata sensory systems and it’s proprioceptors, it’s nocireception, and Pacinian corpuscle sensing system in the self for the “sixth sense.”

The differences between somatotopic mapping, retinotopic mapping, and tonotopic mapping and showing  different new and old pathways and systems and how some are spontaneously active and others are dependent on the threshold of the stimulation that provide information. The pathways of Unconscious proprioception involves the spinocerebellular tracts and ending up in the cerebellum from being stopped or inhibited from entering the thalamus, sending it back to basic processes in the cerebellum for movement.

Humans have evolved brains that are exquisitely sensitive to it’s environment, and to others who survive around us, or similar kinds. The social brain is a construct and a set of functions that between them we ensure that we can operate in a tightly knit  community. It includes the ability to communicate and give meaning to words and actions. Dr. Mike Hansen, Dr. Yan, Dr. Montagnier, Dr. John Campbell and many of his interviewed and Dr. Malone gave meaning to covid 19 along with many other doctors and nurses. The 4000 variations with 12,700 mutations and damage to the brain were very clearly communicated of how dangerous it was for the human being. The ability to communicate, organize, initiate, appreciate the knowledge without fear, and focus on the steps to get us through, had to have trust in our systems outside ourselves. The ability to understand people, to keep society on track and focused with survival,  is social positioning and must lineup with some kind of belief system. Policy agreements between 1926 and 2026, must be respected. International Laws have a place between our two countries that no one should be able to take over. The idea of being a distinct self as a brain construct of my electromagneticvibrational system status initiation of Peace on the borders, is movement in Kinetic energy and “UNIFYING.”

Another fact is “Oxytocin: and the Law of attraction are not just sexual initiation. Oxytocin is a hormone produced by the hypothalamus and can be released by stimulus related to sexual activity. However, hormones can contribute to attraction to a group because of similarity. Oxytocin produces a pleasurable feeling when you see common ground and that promotes bonding. Like the hormone vassopressin, it helps the processing of social cues involved in the recognition of individuals and may play a role in communicating shared memories. Oxytocin has somewhat of an addictive effect like dopamine. It contributes to why people feel anguish in some cases about being separated from loved ones, and some can feel the oxytocin rush you get when you around loved ones. Feeling close by hugging or kissing and cuddling releases oxytocin. This is knowledge known by Science. It heightens feelings of closeness normally. Oxytocin is secreted in women by the pituitary gland and then goes into the blood stream. (Oxytocin data of Science that I believed needed to be shared with those who do not know).

Areas of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 31, 39, 40, of Brodman’s, Wernicke’s and Broccas areas of the brain are involved with the Somatasensory system, the Nocireception system, and Pacinian Corpuscle information.

Norepinephrine  is the major neurotransmitter of the nucleus “locus coeruleus” the (blue nucleus) a tiny nucleus in the pontine reticulation formation involved in sleep, wake cycles, attention, and regulation, and blood flow.  The smallest nucleus.

Phylogenetic  – meaning in the case of this writing meaning  evolution.

Phrenology  – a discipline whose main tenets included that mental faculties are located in specific cortical areas and that the development of such faculties could be judged by the size of the overlying skull areas.

Polarized – Directional in terms of neuronal structure and this refers to the fact that part of the neuron is specialized for reception like the “proprioception” specializes in pain. Somatotopic Sensory Systems are for information from other neurons too, for example projection pathways, commissary pathways, and associated pathways. And then some respond to joints, and some to skin and like the thalamus dealing directly with pain feelings. The amygdala would be involved because of emotion of anxiety in some cases with pain, along with all pathways of initiating movement, and kinetic movement, so as you can see the mapping takes in many many areas of the brain. Papician corpuscles respond to joints but respond to the data from the cortex eg. dendrites and the cell body, and other parts as mentioned above.

Pons –  is also involved because it is the bridge that connects the cortex and thalamus to the cerebellum.

Inhibition neurons –  Post synaptic describes the structure of the synapse of stopping initiation of synapses, and having neurons associated with neuro modulators, or regulation.. It produces change in synaptic potential.

The Prefrontal Cortex  – is part of the frontal lobe implicated in working memory.

Presbycusis – is a word meaning “decreased hearing” at higher frequencies which occur from the loss of flexibility of the basilar membrane.

Presbyopia – a disorder of vision occurring as the result of the loss of flexibility of the lens in the eye.

Defining certain definitions and meanings, was a necessary to help me convey to you the meanings of some of these terms I will be using over the next few writings. Thank you. We talk, we share, we organize, we evolve from the construct of the human brain memory. Every bit of evolution is because of these constructs. Unification too. Carolyn d Hogarth Canada
